Located in a beautiful part of the Hampshire countryside, this large Georgian style house utilises high-quality traditional materials and modern construction methods. Combined, these elements give an authentic feel to a highly energy efficient home.

The detail

The exposed nature of the site made the construction of the shell of this house a testing experience. Frequent high winds meant brickwork had to be buttressed and braced as the external walls went up. Despite this the bricklayers were able to show off their skills, as can be seen from the beautiful brickwork, a highlight of the project.

The Flemish brickwork is an example of how we can combine craftmanship and trade experience with technical skills. To ensure the Flemish bond remained true, it was plotted our by our team on the drawings using CAD software before brickwork commenced to ensure it worked around door and window openings. The bricklayers were then able to take this information apply their practical skills to create the impressive brickwork detailing that can be seen as you approach the house.

The classical design was carefully interpreted from limited drawings to ensure the house honoured the characteristics synonymous with Georgian architecture.

The front door is accentuated by a classical portico, framed by columns and including sidelights. This is typical of the architectural style, as are the elegant curved dormers and lead roofed veranda.
